Pay close attention to this article because the style of this scam is very elaborate. This scammer is very experienced. I am saying this because in three years on Fiverr, I was always careful with scammers but this one is an expert. Why do I say Fiverr did nothing about it? Because their cancellation policy is a paradise for buyers who want to scam sellers. I am just going to present their cancelation policy briefly and then I am going to explain how I got scammed.
If a buyer completes the order (just to be able to download your work) but after that, he asks Customer Support to cancel that order because he doesn’t want it anymore, Customer Support simply accepts his request, gives him back the money, leaves him with your work and leaves you without the money.
The buyer is the boss and you, as a seller, are just a modern smart slave. I am sure most of you knew that and I am sure such a thing happened to you before.
So, FIVERR IS A PERFECT PLATFORM FOR SCAMMERS.
If you don’t believe me, do this: Go to Fiverr, make a buyer account, buy a Logo Gig (for example) accept the order, then after you download the logo on your computer, just contact Customer Support and tell them that you don’t like the logo anymore and you just want to cancel the order. They will cancel the order, they will give you back the money and you will still have the Logo. No one will do nothing about it. Even if the seller will see that you use the Logo, Fiverr won’t do anything about it.
I AM NOT SAYING FIVERR IS A SCAMMER TOO, BECAUSE WHAT THEY DON’T SEE HERE IS THAT THEY ALSO LOSE MONEY.
What if anyone would do the same thing? What if all buyers would buy services and then ask for a cancelation? Both Fiverr and sellers will lose money and those buyers will get free work. Fiverr doesn’t understand that they are being scammed as well because of their wrong cancelation policy. When they decide to cancel a completed order, they don’t consult the seller most of the times. When they consult the seller, they block his money until they accept to give the buyer’s money back. This is the only way they consult sellers.
In 2017 someone bought from me through Fiverr a Huffington Post account. He completed the order, I got the money and after two days he posted something against the Huff policies and they deleted the account.
He came back on Fiverr and said that Huff closed his account and he wants me to give him back the money. Fiverr blocked my withdrawing option until I said yes to give him back the money. So, I leave you to think this over.
LET’S GET TO THE REAL SCAM, HAPPENED A FEW DAYS AGO:
A buyer contacted me and I agreed to write 200 descriptions for a certain amount of money.
I finished the work, I sent him the work, he completed the order, left me a 5 Star Review.
After 3-4 hours he came back and said he doesn’t like the descriptions anymore and he wants to cancel the order.
I said OK. “Delete all the descriptions and then we can cancel the order”
He suspended the website, he contacted Fiverr, he said he deleted the descriptions because he doesn’t like it anymore and he wants the money back. I said OK. Fiverr said OK
They cancelled the order, gave him back the money. In ten minutes he put the website live again with all my work on it.
I contacted Fiverr and told them that this guy scammed me and also scammed them. That person is still using my work. I have proves that the content is written by me.I showed that to Fiverr and they did nothing about it because they said that after they cancel the order they can reverse it.
So, a person is using my work which he didn’t pay me for. Is this a scam or not? It is and Fiverr knows and they can’t do anything about it.
The website who is using my work is this: geardeal.online
The guy is from Israel. He also has a lot of videos who he claims are his. All he did was to place his logo on the image.
I am sure there are other users on Fiverr who got scammed by him. Be strong! There is nothing you can do about it.
